OUR SACRED MISSION
WHEREAS the bluegill (Lepomis macrochirus) is a noble and dignified fish deserving of recognition regardless of its stature;
WHEREAS size limits imposed by so-called "wildlife authorities" represent an unconscionable overreach into the sovereign fishing rights of the American angler;
WHEREAS Dan has caught a lot of really small bluegills and he is keeping them and you can't stop him;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Baby Blue Gill Association shall stand as the world's foremost defender of the undersized catch — a beacon of hope for fishermen everywhere who have looked at a fish the size of a quarter and thought, "good enough."
A MESSAGE FROM THE FOUNDER, PRESIDENT, SECRETARY, TREASURER, AND SOLE MEMBER
Daniel ("Dan") is widely regarded — by himself — as the foremost authority on undersized bluegill retention in the continental United States. A visionary fisherman, tireless advocate, and the only person who has ever attended a BBGA meeting, Dan founded the Baby Blue Gill Association after a particularly productive afternoon during which he caught seventeen bluegills, none of which were remotely legal to keep, and kept all seventeen of them. "Someone had to take a stand," Dan has said, on multiple occasions, to no one in particular.
"If the fish is big enough to bite the hook, it's big enough to keep. I don't make the rules. Actually, I do. I made all the rules."
Dan laminated this himself. He is very proud of it.

Size limits are suggestions. Suggestions are optional.
"Catch and release" is not in our vocabulary. Or our dictionary. We removed that page.
All bluegills are the right size. Some are just more right than others.
Dan's word is final. Dan is also the only one who can challenge Dan's word.
If a game warden approaches, you were "just measuring" the fish. You are always just measuring.
The minimum size for a keepable bluegill is whatever size the bluegill you just caught is.
